That same love, attention and devotion Cora bestowed upon her girls, she showered her grandchildren with also. Briun (19), Myla (9) and Milan (4) are Chonisa’s kids. Kim is Ayana’s (18) and Justin’s (14) mother. If I witnessed an incredible relationship between mother and daughters, then the bond between the grandmother and grand kids was off the chart. The grand kids wanted to be with their grandmother every chance possible. They were staying over most weekends and summers. Every since they were toddlers Cora has been keeping them at her house on a regular basis. They really enjoyed being with their grandmother. Besides all the love and adulation she gave, she also taught them. She played games with them. She took them to the movies and the zoo. She took them to school and brought them home after school. They were at her house on the 4th of July. They rang in the New Year at her house.They celebrated birthdays at Grandmother’s house and most other holidays and special occasions. You have to understand that grandmother’s house was a two-bedroom duplex with barely enough room to turn around. But those kids would rather be at Grandmother’s house than anywhere else. The girls would pile up together in bed with Grandmother while Justin would sleep in the other bedroom. The love flowed like rushing water. Those were the good ole days.

Even though the grand kids have gotten older, they still spend a significant amount of time at grandmother’s house. Briun is now a college student, going to school in Miami. Every time she came home to Memphis, guess who she visited first. Yes that’s right, Grandmother Cora.

Now back to The Weasel. Since Cora and I distributed the letters exposing The Weasel, Chonisa and The Weasel won’t allow Briun, Myla and Milan to visit with their kin on Cora’s side of the family. Briun and her cousin Ayana were really close growing up and The Weasel I’m sure is the reason Briun didn’t attend Ayana’s graduation. For over eight months Briun, Myla and Milan have not seen or spoken with their Big Mamma, Cora’s Mother. They haven’t seen or spoken to Aunt Dot or Aunt Kim or cousin Justin and Ayana. It’s a real shame The Weasel came along and ruined a loving family.

I guess Chonisa didn’t really know The Weasel either, or maybe she did, when they married in Cozumel Mexico in 2010. The Weasel paid for family members to cruise to Cozumel to witness the union. Since then Chonisa has been living the lifestyle of the almost rich and famous. Owning big expensive cars, living in a huge grandiose home in an exclusive neighborhood in downtown Memphis. She and The Weasel fly all over the world at a moments notice and Chonisa doesn’t even work. She often boast to family members about how much money her husband makes and how everyone is jealous of her. And now she has reached the pinnacle of her success. She has become the wife of a Shelby County Commissioner.

About two to three weeks after The Weasel got in bed with Briun, the younger girls, Myla and Milan were staying over to our house once again. They had been with us for about five days when Chonisa called to say she and The Weasel were on their way to get them. My wife told Chonisa that The Weasel was not welcomed in our house. When they arrived The Weasel forced his way into the house and an argument ensued. Chonisa cursed and shoved her mother and ran out the door. On July 28th 2017 Briun told Cora what The Weasel had done. Cora implored Briun to tell her mother. Briun resisted, saying her mother wouldn’t do anything. Cora kept at her, telling Briun if she didn’t tell her mother then she would. Briun finally told Chonisa and her response was “Mickell was just showing you love on your birthday”. Briun’s revelation about her mother proved startling true.

As stated before, my wife and I decided to write a letter exposing The Weasel and send them out into the community. He filed suit to prevent us from sending the letters. This was in October 2017. In the meantime Chonisa filed an order of protection against her mother claiming that Cora wrote a letter threatening to kill her. She couldn’t produce the letter at trial because the letter was fabricated by Chonisa, so the order was dismissed. Briun called Cora and asked her to stop sending the letters because she was afraid that The Weasel would stop paying her tuition at the private university she attends in Miami.

On April 25th and 26th 2018, The Weasel was on a local television show called the Thaddeus Matthews Show. It’s my understanding that Mr Matthews will let anyone come on his show unfettered for a fee. Mr Matthews read the letter we had written exposing The Weasel on air. He then asked The Weasel if the allegations were true. Of course The Weasel denied everything. Don’t they all? But the lies didn’t stop there, he went on to say my wife and Chonisa had been estranged for years. That’s a lie. How could they be estranged when Chonisa was leaving the kids with Cora weekly? He said Cora has mental Illness. People don’t leave their kids with someone who’s mentally Ill. He said he had a legal document in the form of a protection order his wife filed against her mother. Yes she was granted an order of protection based on a made up letter she wrote herself, claiming Cora cursed and threatened her. In the twenty eight years I’ve known Cora, I have never heard her use profanity towards anyone, especially her children. More lies. As I stated earlier the order was dismissed on 4-6-18 because Chonisa couldn’t produce the letter at trial. So on April 25th and 26th when The Weasel mentioned the order, he knew it had been dismissed. More lies.

Also The Weasel kept implying that “this is dirty politics”, that Cora and his political opponent colluded to stop his bid to win the race. I will remind everyone that the letters were first mailed in October of 2017. The letters had nothing at all to do with politics or The Weasel’s opponents. Mr Matthews mentioned Mr Smiley specifically and The Weasel jumped at the opportunity to push the “dirty politics” narrative. Even calling it shameful. What’s shameful is The Weasel getting in bed with his grown daughter, as he kept referring to Briun. Saying she is grown and can speak for herself. She did speak for herself. She spoke to her grandmother, the one she knew loved and cared enough to protect her from a predator.

The Weasel filed suit on October 27th 2017 against Cora and myself for defamation. We have gone to court several times in regards to the defamation law suit. The Weasel never mentioned filing the suit during the interview with Mr Matthews. He didn’t because it would have shot down the whole collusion notion and revealed The Weasel as the liar he is. I must admit, The Weasel has learned to be the quintessential politician in a very short period of time. Or maybe this is not learned behavior, maybe The Weasel was born with his special gift

Mr Matthews said he wanted Mrs Redmond to reach out to him to get her side. But he couldn’t have meant it when he never gave a number to call. Also Mr Matthews never responded to the emails and facebook messages Cora sent with proof that The Weasel was lying. I figured MR Matthews took The Weasel’s money not really interested in being fair and balanced or the truth. About the part where Mr Matthews says he talked to Briun and she denied anything ever happened, I can point to the young lady in R Kelly sex tape who denied it was her. And all the other victims, young and old, who are afraid for whatever reason to come forward and tell on their abusers. As for mothers who turn a blind eye, I can only surmise that desperation plays a big part. Desperate not to lose their man thereby losing their lifestyle and support.
